Wilhelm and Ferdinand von Wright belonged to a Swedish-Finnish noble family in the 17th century. Together with their brother Magnus von Wright these ornithologists, scientists, nature illustrators and artists became known for their studies of nature and especially their massive illustrative work Svenska Foglar (“Swedish birds”) in August 1828. The work was ready by 1838 and contains 178 lithographs. Our collection of these fantastic original prints date back to 1930’s.
In addition, hand-coloured botanical illustrations from ‘Bilder ur Nordens Flora’ by C. A. Lindman. The same illustrations were used in the famous Cabinet ”Flora” by Josef Frank for Svenskt Tenn. Our prints are originals.
